Monitor, cables and current limits

The Dell UltraSharp U2723QE, Dell UltraSharp U3223QE are the reference displays. Reviewed positive plans currently use its listed original USB-C video cables at 3840 × 2160, 60 Hz, SDR. Other displays, unidentified cables, gaming modes and three-monitor setups remain unverified. You do not need to buy this monitor to use our general troubleshooting guides.

M1/M2 Air native single-display limits stay separate from M3 closed-lid dual-display conditions. The listed M4/M5 models can use their built-in screen alongside two documented external paths. A dock cannot override a native host limit.

What you need

  1. Exact laptop model and operating system; no serial number.
  2. Monitor model, selected video input and identifiable cable.
  3. Dock model/revision if used, power supply and output labels.
  4. Number of screens, extended or mirrored desktop, and lid preference.

You can choose “I don’t know” and keep the known details. An unknown result says what evidence is missing; it is not a reason to buy more equipment.
