A British-based travel agency has done just that all travel suspended, the latest in a series of business closures.
Established in 2012, Wayfairer Travel Limited specializes in package holidays to a range of destinations from Africa to AsiaEurope and the Middle East.
The company offers trips including safari holidays, adventure getaways and luxury alternatives, and has now closed its doors ‘until further notice’.
A statement from the company said: ‘We are truly sorry for the concern and uncertainty caused by the current situation.
‘Wayfairer Travel has currently suspended all services until further notice.
‘At this stage we cannot provide any further information until we have received appropriate accounting and legal advice.
“These discussions are currently ongoing and we expect to provide a formal update during the week of August 31st.
“We appreciate your patience and sincerely apologize that we are unable to provide greater clarity at this time.”

She is now taking steps to appoint an administrator.
However, a number of customers currently traveling or booking with Wayfairer have claimed they have been left in the dark.
Yesterday a customer wrote on Trustpilot: ‘Wayfairer left us stranded in Botswana. Do not use this company or whatever it is called! If I could leave a zero star review I would!
“We are currently attempting to complete our vacation out of pocket, with no word from Wayfairer or offer of a refund or compensation.”
Association of Bonded Travel Organizers Trust (ABTOT) said: ‘As Wayfairer cannot currently provide assurance that affected packages will be delivered, ABTOT is making arrangements to assist eligible UK customers.’
ABTOT has issued a ‘do not travel’ warning if you booked a holiday with Wayfairer Travel on or before September 30, 2026.
It added: ‘If your departure is after September 30, 2026, please await further information unless contacted directly with other instructions.’
It is the latest in a series of travel agency closures in the UK
It follows a wave of closures in the travel industry. Another one earlier this summer travel agency went bankrupt after 28 years of tradingwith all holidays canceled and customers scrambling to get their money back.
Global Vision International (GVI), based in Exeter, previously offered volunteering and charity trips including placements in conservation, education and community development.
But all current and future GVI programs have been canceled and staff are supporting participants if they plan to leave their trip.
This was also the case last month Ski Yodl Ltd has gone into voluntary liquidation.
The Norwich-based company previously offered ski holiday packages to destinations such as the French Alps, but now trips have been cancelled.
