Editorial Standards and Corrections Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Our editorial commitment
NY Breaking News publishes timely, reader-focused reporting and explainers. We aim to identify what is known, where the information came from, and what remains uncertain. Accuracy, clear attribution, and relevance take priority over publication volume.
Sourcing and attribution
We seek primary sources whenever they are reasonably available, including government agencies, court documents, official company or organization announcements, research institutions, and direct statements. We link to important public sources where helpful to readers. When a claim is unverified, disputed, alleged, projected, or preliminary, we describe it accurately rather than presenting it as settled fact.
Originality and independence
We do not publish copied articles or lightly rewritten versions of other publishers’ reporting. We do not present advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate material, press releases, opinion, satire, or user-generated material as independent news reporting. Any such material, if published, must be clearly labelled.
Use of automation and AI assistance
Editorial tools may assist with workflow, formatting, research organization, or draft preparation. They do not replace editorial responsibility. A published article must pass source, accuracy, clarity, and duplication checks before release. We do not publish fabricated sources, invented quotations, or unsupported factual claims.
Corrections
Readers can report factual errors, missing context, or other concerns by emailing editor@nybreaking.com or using the contact form. Please include the article URL, the issue, and supporting information where available. We review credible requests promptly. When a material error is corrected, we update the article and, where appropriate, add a correction note or update notice.
Updates and publication dates
We do not republish an old article or change its publication date merely to make it appear new. A story is updated only when material information is added, corrected, or clarified. Significant updates should be reflected in the visible update information and the article’s structured data.
