Veteran 10News sportscaster Robb Waters has accepted a voluntary resignation, leaving the network after 22 years.
The journalist, who completed his last day at Channel Ten on Friday, shared a statement on social media thanking his followers for their years of support.
‘Personal news… after 22 years, today is my last day at Channel Ten. I have happily accepted a voluntary resignation,” Waters began.
‘I would like to thank Ch 10 for the support and all the great opportunities that came my way. A big thank you to my many colleagues. I’m excited about what lies ahead. Go pies!’
Waters worked as a sports presenter and match commentator at Ten during his tenure at the network.
He was known for his cheerful and enthusiastic presentation style as he covered the biggest events in both the AFL and Australian cricket.

Fellow 10News anchor Caty Price paid tribute to Waters during a special on-air segment on Friday.
“It’s a sad day for all of us at 10am as we say goodbye to Rob Waters after an incredible innings of 22 years,” Price began.
“He is a giant of Melbourne sports media, always getting to the heart of a story to deliver the big moments in sport to your home. He has been a great friend and colleague to us.”
Price ended by saying that Waters “is an absolute legend” and in tribute to him, she said something she would normally never say.
“Go pies!” Price joked.
Waters’ departure comes almost a month after it was revealed that one of Ten’s most respected editorial leaders will be leaving the network after more than two decades.
10 News+ executive producer Daniel Sutton accepted a voluntary resignation, with the announcement made in an email to all employees on Monday, August 3.
A fixture at the broadcaster for more than two decades, Sutton held a series of senior editorial roles during his tenure, including serving as Ten’s US correspondent before taking the helm of 10 News+ ahead of its launch last year.

In the internal email, management paid tribute to Sutton, describing him as a ‘true leader’ whose editorial judgment, calm leadership and sense of humor would be greatly missed.
Last month, the channel stopped its current affairs program 10 News+ after just a year on the air, following poor viewing figures.
The program was removed from the weekday lineup and shifted to a single broadcast on Sunday evenings.
From August 10, the broadcaster will instead extend its flagship 5pm news bulletin from 60 to 90 minutes, giving audiences more local coverage in its key early evening time slot.
