Tammy Hembrow has called Los Angeles “a bit of a dark place with some dark people” as she spoke about her infamous meltdown at Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party last weekend during a game of answer-or-shot with the Outspoken Podcast.
The 32-year-old fitness influencer also denied speculation that she was struggling financially after putting her mansion up for sale, opened up about closing her activewear label Saski and shut down rumors that she is pregnant with boyfriend Grayson Te Moana.
But it was a question about her departure from Kylie’s birthday celebration in 2018 that made her hesitate to answer.
“I don’t want to make a mess,” Tammy said as others encouraged her to talk or take a shot of alcohol.
She initially struggled to find the words and said, “I feel like there’s a… Oh, I don’t want….”
Tammy then gave a sharp picture of her time in the American city.

“I just feel like LA is a bit of a dark place,” she said.
“And there are some shady people.”
She added: ‘That’s why I haven’t been there in a hot minute.’
Tammy did not identify anyone or explain what she meant by the comments before stating, “I’m just going to take a stab at it.”
Another speaker then asked if she thought she had been drugged.
“I think so,” Tammy said, before another speaker intervened.
She did not complete the thought or provide further details in the accompanying exchange.
The conversation turned to others who recalled their surprise at seeing her incapacitated.

“After that happened, Lucy and I literally said… ‘This isn’t happening because that girl can fucking party,'” one speaker said.
Tammy made international headlines in August 2018 when she was photographed face down on a stretcher outside West Hollywood hotspot Delilah during Kylie’s star-studded birthday celebrations.
She has previously spoken about the personal toll of the incident, telling Stellar magazine that it was a low point in her life.
“I kept telling myself there’s only up from here,” she told the publication, saying she had only had “one or two” drinks.
“It was a very dark time and I had to shut out the trolls and the hate I was getting.”
She also documented the experience in her book Show Up.
In her original statement after the party, Tammy said she had been severely sleep deprived and felt unwell before she started drinking.
“I probably, definitely, shouldn’t have been drinking because of the jet lag and the fatigue I had, and I already wasn’t feeling well,” she said at the time.

However, Tammy explained that she had been wanting to move for a while and was looking for more outdoor space.
“Oh, I’ve wanted to sell it for a long time,” she said.

Her plans also include more space for her children to play.
‘For example, I want to build a playground in the backyard. Like, I want to have a garden,” she added.

The interrogation then became considerably blunter.
“Are you poor, people want to know?” she was asked.
“No,” Tammy responded, before another speaker added, “She’s not poor.”
Tammy was equally candid about closing Saski, admitting the decision had come as a relief.
“So good,” she said when asked how she felt about closing the business.
“Honestly, the best thing I’ve done career-wise.”
Despite her affection for the label, Tammy admitted that she felt she should have walked away sooner.
“I loved it so much, but towards the end I felt like I should have ended it a few years earlier,” she explained.
