Olivia Attwood has claimed her ex Bradley Dack’s infidelity ‘wasn’t about her’ as she said people cheat because they ‘lack morals and self-control’.
The former Love Island star, 35, split from footballer Bradley, 32, in January and subsequently accused him of cheating on her multiple times.
Bradley is now thought to have rekindled a romance with his ex-flame Emily Moloney after they were spotted together earlier this summer.
After the outing, Olivia called Emily Bradley’s “onside” in a series of scathing messages and called her a “professional benchwarmer.”
While she is now in a happy relationship with TOWIE star Pete Wicks, Olivia has been open about how much she has had to struggle in the aftermath of her failed marriage.
In a new episode of her podcast Olivia’s house she spoke candidly about her thoughts on cheating in general, without mentioning Bradley specifically.
She said, “Over the course of my life, dealing with infidelity or dealing with being cheated on is something that I’ve dealt with differently over time. And I think I’ve definitely gone through different versions of it over the last six, seven months.
“When people said this to me, it didn’t help me at all until it clicked. But being cheated on isn’t about you. And that’s the only way I can really get it into someone’s head.
Olivia Attwood has claimed her ex Bradley Dack’s infidelity ‘wasn’t about her’ as she said people cheat because they ‘lack morals and self-control’.
She said on her podcast this week: ‘Being cheated on isn’t about you. And that’s the only way I can really get it into someone’s head…’
“Like it’s about you in the sense that you feel it, the pain, the betrayal. But no one cheats on anyone, I don’t think, unless it’s a revenge thing to hurt someone…
‘People cheat because they lack morals, because they have no self-control. Some people are really wired like that. And actually, I believe, and people don’t agree with me, that it doesn’t necessarily mean that you weren’t loved or that the relationship wasn’t real.”
She continued, “I think you need to understand that the way they are able to love you is not enough for you. Right? And I know people in open relationships, they love each other and the way they love each other and stand up for each other is completely in a way that I could never relate to.
“So I think when you’re an adult, it’s about finding out what you can do, what makes you love? What does real love feel like? And the person they may love loves you, but not in the way you want to be loved.”
‘But yes, that there is something, it is quite general, but it is something that has helped me enormously. It’s never about you. And you have to, like I said at the beginning of this episode, you can’t suppress it. You have to do the work.”
Olivia then explained that if you don’t deal with your emotions surrounding the cheating, it will “eat you up.”
She said: ‘It will literally look like it’s eating you. As if it came from my body. Like I was under the skin, I’m still covered in psoriasis.’
‘I didn’t sleep well, but I was functioning at a very high level. Like I was filming. I was doing all my business, my podcast, but inside I realized that I hadn’t done that… I hadn’t drawn a line in that chapter of my life and I hadn’t processed things.
“So I just had to face some realities, even if they were uncomfortable realities. It was work that needed to be done. I’d say I’m better.
While she is now in a happy relationship with TOWIE star Pete Wicks, Olivia has been open about how much she has had to struggle in the aftermath of her failed marriage.
“And people always say to me, ‘Oh my God, you’re so happy.’ You look so happy.” And what I’m saying is I think I’m still processing a lot of things, but there’s so much happiness in my life.”
Olivia recently appeared to take a cryptic swipe at ex-Bradley as she continues to deal with their ‘terrible’ breakup.
The presenter took to her Instagram Stories and shared another swear word.
It read: ‘Stop being so forgiving, people know exactly what they are doing.’
Olivia also revealed she feared she was ‘moving too fast’ with Pete as she got over her ‘terrible’ divorce from Bradley.
Of her romance with Pete, Olivia said: ‘It was unexpected, we went from platonic to non-platonic very quickly. He is extremely intelligent, compassionate and patient, everything I desperately needed but didn’t know I needed.”
She further told The Times: “Is something amazing happening while I’m still processing something terrible? Yes. People say I should be single, that I should go on dates. But if I were to end things with Pete, I would just be dating people to find the connection I have with him.”
