A top Labor MP has been convicted of celebrating a gender-segregated Muslim event in her constituency.
Self-proclaimed ‘proud feminist’ Stella Creasy attended the Milad Al Nabi march in her north London takes place over the weekend and describes it as a “noisy annual celebration for our local Muslim community of the Prophet Muhammad’s [sic] birthday.’
Creasy’s video clip on social media quickly sparked reactions, as eagle-eyed users noticed the absence of women on the streets.
Columnist Jenni Russel wondered, “Where are the women, Stella? Why are they excluded? Please explain.’
When asked if female participants were segregated, Ms. Creasy openly admitted that this was the case.
She argued: ‘Many religions have separate events and structures.’
The Walthamstow MP later posted a video of local Muslim women, captioning it: ‘These women are the future optometrists, lawyers, accountants, surgeons and leaders of our community and country. They also celebrate the Prophet’s birthday during the Milad il Nabi march.
‘Everyone is welcome, so come next year and meet them to find out what this event is all about, because they are fantastic!’

Ms Creasy insisted there were women present, but later openly admitted they had been separated from the male participants
She was quickly branded a hypocrite after previously condemning a London private members club for refusing to accept female members.
In 2022, Ms Creasy labeled the 200-year-old Garrick Club an ‘old boys club’ whose rules are holding women back, amid attempts to change their rules around female members.
The senior Labor MP was today condemned by the Conservatives, who accused her of engaging in ‘divisive’ politics.
Shadow Secretary of State for Women and Equalities Joy Morrissey told the Daily Mail: ‘This is the same Labor MP who thinks it is perfectly acceptable for men to use women’s toilets, but apparently not acceptable for them to attend the same event.
“Stella Creasy should know better than to engage in this divisive and exclusionary nonsense.
‘The Conservatives’ Culture and Integration Committee will look at how we can put an end to this.’
