Sandra Bullock has given rare insight into her dating life, three years after her partner Bryan Randall died aged 57 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The 62-year-old Practical Magic 2 star — who recently opened up about Randall — appeared on Kylie Kelce’s I’m not gonna lie podcast this week, in which she said her 12-year-old daughter Laila is cheering her on so far.
Bullock, who is also mother to 16-year-old son Louis, said: “She said I needed to date, but only with someone where they could get stuff. So I said, “What, a rapper, a basketball player? Are those the parameters?” She says, “Yes.” I said, ‘Oh.'”
The actress explained that her children “don’t care about her career,” but “they only care if you come back with stuff for them.”
She joked: ‘My work is artisanal services. That was my job [when they were little]. A place with an extensive artisanal service.’
In August, Bullock broke her silence about the final years of Randall’s life while speaking on the Smartless podcast, hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett.

She became emotional discussing her late partner’s decision to keep his diagnosis private.
The Oscar winner said: ‘He asked me not to share it. I know why he asked me not to do that’, noting: “My sister was the only one who knew for a while.”
She said she was protecting Randall’s privacy’isolated her while raising her children during the pandemic.
“When the pandemic started and I have a child with severe asthma, I panicked. I had two young children navigating it, especially a little girl who saw him as a father figure,” she recalls. “I wasn’t allowed to tell anyone… It’s a huge weight.”
Bullock said she eventually confided in her close friend Jennifer Aniston and Bateman’s wife Amanda Anka about Randall’s condition.
ALS is “a disease of the nervous system that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord,” according to MayoClinic.
Because of the rapidly progressing disease, Bullock said she “mourned Bryan for four years before he passed away.”

Elsewhere in Thursday’s podcast episode, tThe star said she plans her professional life around her daughter and son.
‘My kids are my everything, so if it doesn’t work for them and my time with them, then I don’t do it,” she explained to Kelce.
She added, “And I’m lucky. I am lucky to be one of the mothers who can always be with her children. I don’t want to leave my children behind.’
The veteran actress has largely kept her children out of the public eye, but they have brief cameos in her Practical Magic sequel, which hits theaters on September 10.

The star, who reprises her role of Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 film, enthused: “I can’t wait to show them where it is – they don’t know where it is.”
Bullock was also previously married to motorcycle builder Jesse James from 2005 to 2010. Their marriage ended bitterly after just five years, amid accusations from several women that they had had an affair with James during his marriage to Bullock.
