Elle Macpherson has debuted a bizarre new accent as she promoted her collaboration with luxury fashion brand Linnea Lund.
The 62-year-old Australian supermodel surprised fans with her thick, European-tinged accent when she appeared in a short Instagram clip on Monday in which she brightened up the brand.
Beaming from behind chic sunglasses, Elle praised the brand’s French-Swedish designer Charlotte Bjorklund, saying, “I really wanted to do this collaboration with Charlotte because A, the quality, B, I love her, C, I love female founders.”
“Besides, I wanted to do something that she didn’t have, that I wanted for myself.”
Elle’s accent is very different from the Australian accent she had growing up.
Born and raised in Sydney, she rose to international fame in the 1980s before living and working abroad for many years, including extended periods in New York and London.

During her modeling career, she also spent a lot of time traveling and working throughout Europe, and has since made the US her home.
As a result, Elle has adopted a more “global” accent that has become increasingly difficult to define over the years.
In 2018, the mother of two revealed that her sons Flynn and Aurelius Cy also have completely different accents.
“I have a son who is 15 with a very broad Australian accent, and the other who is 20 has an English accent,” she said.
Flynn was born in New York City, while Aurelius was born in London.
She shares both sons with her former partner, London-based French financier Arpad Busson.
The couple started dating in 1996 and spent almost a decade together, living between London and New York as their relationship became one of the fashion world’s most talked-about romances.
They welcomed Flynn to New York in 1998 and Aurelius to London in 2003, before parting ways in 2005.

Elle later married Miami real estate billionaire Jeffrey Soffer in 2013 after several years of an on-again, off-again relationship.
The couple split in 2017 after four years of marriage.
She then started dating controversial British former doctor Andrew Wakefield, with the pair linked from 2017 to around 2019.
More recently, Elle was romantically linked to American musician Doyle Bramhall II, with the pair making their relationship public in 2022.
Bramhall, who previously dated actress Renée Zellweger, and Elle appeared to embrace a similar nomadic lifestyle and travel the world together.
