An urgent one to remind has been issued for a popular children’s toy after parts were reported to have broken off and two children ended up requiring emergency surgery.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall for 213,500 units of Goody King magnetic building cubes and blocks.
The cubes contain small, powerful magnets that allow the cubes to stick together to create three-dimensional designs.
The recall affects magnetic toy cubes sold in sets of 45, 56, 100, 120, 150 and 300 in various styles and themes, including forest, galaxy, farm, castle, unicorn, forest and dinosaur.
The toy was manufactured in China and distributed in the US through Amazon.com. They were sold through the online retailer from January 2024 through July 2026 for between $17 and $50.
The importer, Yi Suen Commerce of Hong-Konghas been made aware of 27 reports of the toys’ cubes breaking or opening, causing the magnets to become loose and accessible to children.
Two children who swallowed the magnets from the broken parts had to undergo emergency surgery to remove them.

When powerful magnets, such as those in the recalled product, are swallowed, they can attract each other or other metal objects in the body.
They can then become stuck in the digestive system, causing perforations, twisting, intestinal blockage, blood poisoning and death.
A full list of the recalled items, which were announced last week, and their identifying model numbers can be found on the website CPSC website.
The agency said customers should immediately stop using the toy and contact Yi Suen for a refund.
In a similar recall also issued last week, the CPSC also recalled 123 units of CuberShop Magnetic Stickerless Speed Cubes because the cubes were packaged with loose magnets, posing a similar swallowing hazard to children.
The Speed Cubes were also manufactured in China and sold on Amazon.com from April 2025 to June 2025 for between $20 and $25.
No injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with this recall.
And earlier this month, another magnet-related recall occurred for nearly 1,000 PIXLABBY Silicone Sensory Magnetic Fidget Sliders.
They were also manufactured in China and sold through Amazon.com from October 2025 to May 2026 for around $10.
The recall occurred because the Fidget Sliders contain powerful magnets that can become loose and accessible to children.
One child was hospitalized after accessing and swallowing two magnets in the slider.
No other injuries have been reported in connection with this recall.
