Brits have been warned to ‘immediately’ stop using a popular facial cleanser because they fear it is ‘contaminated’ and could cause eye pain.
Simple Skincare is urgently recalling bottles of its 730ml Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water.
Officials said the affected products were sold in budget supermarkets B&M, Bargains for home and savers.
In a warning, product safety chiefs said: ‘It has been determined that affected lots may be microbiologically contaminated…’
They warned that this could cause ‘eye inflammation’ – a term for when the eyes show redness or swelling.
The affected batch numbers are 613841 and 613941, with a barcode number of 8720181894381. They were manufactured in Poland.
Batch numbers can be found on the bottom of the bottle.
Micellar water is often used by people removing makeup or to remove dirt from the skin or pores.

Officials said the product has been removed from shelves and that anyone “in possession of an affected batch should immediately discontinue using the product.”
Anyone who has one of the bottles can contact the place of purchase for a refund, the message said.
A separate statement from Simple said customers can also reach the helpline by emailing ukicare@unilever.com or calling 0800 146 252.
They also say no proof of purchase is needed, just the relevant batch code ‘where possible’.
Simply say that anyone concerned that their health has been affected by the bottles should seek the help of a medical professional.
They did not specify what bacteria might have been in the bottles and emphasized that no other Simple products were affected.
According to them, this means that no other sizes of Kind to Skin Micellar Cleansing Water are included in the recall.
This also applies to other 730 ml bottles that do not have the relevant batch codes.
