Gemma Rose Barnes has welcomed her second son with husband Jordan Bishop.
The MAFS star revealed on Instagram earlier this month that she had given birth to baby Remy as she celebrated Rainbow Baby Day after seven miscarriages.
Gemma was taken to hospital early after her waters broke and Remy was born by caesarean section at 34 weeks.
The mum, who already shares son Franklin, two, with Jordan, revealed he was placed in higher dependency care after struggling to breathe but was ‘doing really well’.
However, Gemma confessed that she struggled with postpartum recovery after a traumatic birth.
She took to Instagram to share how she struggled with C-section pain, explaining that she had pain around her incision and abdomen.

She wrote: ‘So for six days I have been experiencing increasing pain in my incision and abdomen, which I have had to explain to eight doctors and many experienced midwives, with the last doctor telling me that it is in my head, most people have no more pain after two days of caesarean section, so it turns out to be quite serious.
‘A possible hematoma, fluid retention and a possible infection, the only concern was not to be given too many painkillers and go against plans again and again because the next professional didn’t agree.
‘The last time I had a baby I got sepsis because I didn’t believe in the placenta and the uterus for ten days. And I wasn’t even told I had it.
‘I felt a lot of PTSD emotions from which I felt healed a few days later – until my symptoms did not match the level of care the hospital wanted to provide.
“A male doctor told me I’m making up for a female doctor coming in five minutes later at his request to say I need an emergency scan, IV ANTIBIOTICS and pain management.”
Later, updating fans, she added, “36 hours of IV antibiotics and my fluid sacs in my abdomen have at least doubled in size.
‘Although the doctors hope that it will go away on its own, I don’t have much confidence in that. My scar started leaking small amounts of water and this was fascinating to any professional as they had never heard of it before, but many women with the same problem after a c-section have reported leaking, cracking or body-absorbing.
‘I am now taking antibiotics in tablets, but I see that it is deflating. I actually have testicles hanging from my stomach. It feels like a few liters of liquid in bags and large bags above that you can shake and see the liquid move.

“The doctor who told me my pain and symptoms were in my head came back yesterday as part of my care, and luckily Jordan was here and not with the newborn. I immediately started crying and shaking and between cries I was able to say that he should not be part of my treatment.
‘Jordan explained that he had said it was all my head and he said no it wasn’t (gaslighting) and went to get another opinion but that opinion was the lead consultant who said I was showing signs of hematoma and needed an emergency scan with pain management.
“Jordan told him to basically get lost and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have a man like mine. He slept on that chair-couch thing for almost a week and supported us through every moment in the hospital.”
A hematoma is a collection of blood outside blood vessels, usually caused by an injury or bump that damages a blood vessel under the skin or in the body.
Gemma previously suffered from sepsis after the birth of her first child with Jordan.
She wrote: ‘Those eighteen months after my sepsis were the hardest, and for the first year my speech was so terrible that I could see the words but couldn’t form them out loud.
‘I started sentences and went blank to the limit, where I could no longer find works to explain to myself why I couldn’t talk. I got every disease because my immune system was non-existent.
‘I had little energy, was confined to bed so often and without aftercare we didn’t know where to go to get better.
‘I had pain in my uterus, s*x became painful, I had extreme pain on and off for a year. It felt like I was having a stroke.
“I was in a deep depression and our relationship was struggling so much that Jordan suffered catastrophically with his mental health.”
In December 2025, Gemma married Jordan in Las Vegas and took to her Instagram to share the happy news with fans.
Gemma appeared on Married At First Sight in 2022 and was linked to Matt Murray, in an extremely ill-fated union which she revealed led to a breakdown.
After leaving the programme, she suffered panic attacks and revealed she was spending £1,000 a day on drugs, leaving her homeless and bankrupt.
Since recovering, she flew to Turkey to undergo stomach surgery, and admitted she now has ‘happily ever after’.
