MAFS star Bec Zacharia breaks down in tears as she hits back at cruel critics over her 30kg weight loss and 'Barbie waist' surgery

Married At First Sight bride Bec Zacharia broke down in tears on a flight this week due to the brutal criticism she received over her dramatic transformation.

Bec has been documenting her weight loss journey with her followers in recent months after losing 30kg in Bali and undergoing a controversial ‘Barbie waist’ rib contouring procedure.

The reality TV star, 36, shared a raw clip of herself wiping tears from her eyes while on a plane.

She said she had received a litany of hurtful messages about her diet and body.

The outspoken star said she was inundated with unsolicited opinions after sharing a photo of a drizzled donut her grandmother brought over for her to enjoy.

‘I wanted to come here and discuss something! Yesterday I posted a story about a sprinkled donut that my dear, sweet grandmother brought over with a cup of coffee to share with her,” Bec began.

‘I received a DM from a lady after I posted that, and she essentially said “your health journey is bullshit”.’

Bec said the woman accused her of contradicting her own weight loss claims after seeing her eating desserts.

‘I have now lost 30 kilos! Am I doing the wrong thing if I am realistic about what I do? She said, “I see you scarfing down dessert in your car and eating a donut! It’s not right,” she said.

She went on to explain that she deliberately took a moderate approach to dieting, having previously struggled with binge eating.

“As someone who has had an eating disorder and is used to binge eating and works on the basis of moderation and not restriction, am I doing something wrong by posting that I enjoy half a donut on Saturdays?” she said.

‘Because from Monday to Friday I am healthy, high in protein, little to no carbohydrates, I eat vegetables and lean meat. I get asked every day what I eat, and I don’t know if that question goes too far.’

Bec defended her decision to indulge occasionally, stressing that she should be able to enjoy a treat every now and then, despite being committed to her health goals.

She told Daily Mail that hurtful comments about her appearance, diet and cosmetic procedures were common.

“I am transparent, if I get hip surgery, I will be transparent. “I get messages every day from people saying I looked better before the surgery, or that I shouldn’t eat certain foods, or that I’m disgusting and ugly,” Bec said.

‘I just laugh at them! People message me that I used to look better and now I’m ugly. But this won’t be the last operation I have, I don’t regret it! I have so much confidence in it now!’

The reality star is preparing for even more cosmetic work as part of her head-to-toe transformation.

She said she was considering a facial, as well as Botox, fillers and further skin treatments.

Speaking on Daily Mail Australia’s MAFS Unleashed podcast, Bec addressed the fierce backlash surrounding her Bali procedure and insisted she did not undergo rib removal.

“It’s not rib removal, it’s rib contouring,” she said.

She explained that the procedure involved altering her lower floating ribs and wearing a tight corset during her recovery.

She claimed that doctors used a small needle and ultrasound technology, without incisions, and said she took paracetamol for only four days afterwards.
