After marrying in a blaze of publicity and a ceremony that brought New York to a standstill in July, Taylor Swift and her new husband Travis Kelce found themselves in a bubble of marital bliss.
They were able to sleep in, exercise together and even take short trips, including to Laguna, California, the weekend after their ceremony at Madison Square Garden, to celebrate the wedding of one of Kelce’s close friends.
But the honeymoon bubble now appears to have burst as Swift, 36, finds herself spending a lot of time alone after her NFL boyfriend was dragged back to practice with his Kansas City Chiefs teammates in Missouri in late July.
“She is frustrated because football takes up so much of his time – he works overtime – so they see so little of each other, and she would like more,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
“Travis being in training camp meant she had to go out on her own. They don’t see each other every day, but they do see each other every week, and they are very committed to that.’
However, the lovebirds have a plan to stay in touch when work pushes them apart.

Kelce, 36, returned to football practice ahead of the new Kansas City Chiefs NFL season
“They talk on the phone all the time, texting, FaceTime, all of it. He also sends her flowers when she’s out of town, her favorites like roses and orchids,” the insider added.
‘They just deal with it. They know they both have huge careers and they love what they do, so they give each other freedom.”
While Kelce, also 36, focused on football before what many expect will be his final season in the NFL, Swift went it alone, jet-setting between Los Angeles, New York and London.
“That girl doesn’t really sit still, she has tons of energy,” says our insider. “She had to go to parties, perform and do interviews without her husband by her side.”
Swift was in Los Angeles in mid-August to promote her Eras Tour documentary, which received five Emmy nominations. She went to the Grammy Museum and sang I Knew It, I Knew You, and also hung out with director Glenn Weiss at a pre-Emmy event.
She then performed at an Emmy For Your Consideration event and attended a function at the home of sound designer John Ross.
“She is making all the right moves to support the documentary,” our insider said. “She was recognized as a performer and producer for the Disney+ special.”
Swift may even attend the Emmy ceremony on Monday, September 14. If she does, she’ll be alone again as Kelce plays his first game of the new NFL season against the Denver Broncos that evening in Kansas City.

Being forced to spend time apart is nothing unusual for the newlyweds, whose hectic schedules have presented a challenge since they first started dating in 2023. Swift was on her massive world tour while Kelce was hopping from state to state for games.
When he got the time, he hit the road with Swift, jumping on stage for a show in London and even traveling to Buenos Aires, Argentina. They also enjoyed a holiday in Australia.
But despite years of juggling work commitments, Swift has struggled in the weeks since tying the knot at MSG and misses the quality time together.
“It’s harder now that they’re married because she definitely wants more. It’s understandable,” our source said. ‘They’ve been married for almost two months, but she hasn’t seen him much. She misses their morning workouts and cooking together.
‘She loves having her handsome husband by her side, holding her hand, opening doors for her and watching her. He makes her feel not only loved, but also protected. She is so in love that she wants to spend more time with Travis.
“But she understands that he puts in the hours, because he wants to be his very best this season.”
The source continued: “She refuses to complain to him about his absence because she knew what she signed up for, she knew he would be at the practice after they got married. She knew the honeymoon would be short, so she can’t complain at all, and she doesn’t want to make Travis feel guilty. That’s not her deal, she’s never ashamed or complaining,” our source said.
“She wants to support him so he can do his best this season.”

The Chiefs play the Seahawks on Friday, August 28 in Kansas City. “Taylor may be there to support her man, but she loves being a WAG,” a source told the Daily Mail
And while Swift has to make a decision between attending the Emmys or Kelce’s first official game of the new season in September, she’ll still be cheering him on at every opportunity in the coming weeks.
“She loves being a WAG,” our source added.
During her downtime, Swift was ‘busy working on new music and a new documentary for the future,” they continued.
She is in a “very creative mode” where she comes up with lyrics, melodies and “vibes” and talks to the Haim sisters for inspiration because “they are great at guiding her.”
But the weeks after the wedding were also a chance for her to ‘relax extremely’.
The source said, “Taylor hasn’t posted on Instagram in almost three months and it’s been a while since she’s been on the red carpet, so she’s letting her hair down a bit and loving it.”
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Swift and Kelce for comment.
