Karl Stefanovic has shared a beautiful tribute to country legend Dolly Parton following her death at the age of 80.
The former Today show host posted the resurfaced interview, which was filmed for the breakfast television show in 2020, to his Instagram on Wednesday.
In the video, Karl begins with one of Dolly’s iconic hits, her 1982 duet with Kenny Rogers, Islands in the Stream.
The TV host tries to sing Roger’s first verse and invites Dolly to start the second verse.
The singer obliged and delivered a beautifully impromptu performance before giving it back to Stefanovic by announcing, “Take it Tarzan!”
Stefanovic tried to continue but did not have the necessary pipes to complete the difficult song, causing Dolly to giggle.

“I think you’re going to hurt yourself,” Parton drawled, laughing.
‘Don’t hurt yourself. I am not responsible for that. I think we have done enough,” she added.
Stefanovic captioned the throwback video with a sweet tribute to the late singer.
“Take Tarzan.” Some people just have it. She had it all. Love forever,” Karl wrote alongside the clip.
The video received dozens of positive comments from fans of Karl and Dolly.

Parton’s reps subsequently revealed in a statement to People that the Jolene singer died after a “brief battle with cancer,” though they did not reveal what type of cancer it was.
“Our beloved Dolly Parton spent her life and career bringing joy, laughter, hope and integrity to everything she touched,” the statement said.
“After bravely enduring a brief battle with cancer, Dolly departed her earthly life today at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, surrounded by loved ones.”
Her death followed months of health problems that saw her withdraw from a series of public appearances, fueling fans’ fears for her well-being.
