Ariana Grande is known to get playfully affectionate with her new boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, but she was caught turning up the heat in a very surprising way.
The 33-year-old singer celebrated the conclusion of her 41-show Eternal Sunshine tour by posting a black and white video montage – with one of the special moments showing her planting a passionate kiss on her former backup dancer, 35.
The footage showed Grande rehearsing ahead of her final show in London before walking to the edge of the stage where Alvarez took photos of her, knelt down and gave him a long hug.
Grande, who was spotted holding hands with her beau in New York City on Thursday, eventually pulled herself away and finished the song. “Feels good,” she said, breathing into the microphone.
The video was her way of saying “I love you” to her fans who followed her on the trek, and also to Alvarez, it seems.
‘[T]his experience has meant more to me than words can ever say… ‘I love you’ can’t cover it. Thank you. from the bottom of my heart. always yours, Ariana,” she wrote in the caption.

Grande sparked speculation that she wants to settle down with the dancer-turned-photographer after changing the lyrics to her song “thank you” during the final concert on Tuesday.
Instead of the original line, “Wrote a few songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” she sang, “Wrote a few songs about Ricky / I’m trying to make him my last.”
Grande previously changed the words during her show at New York’s Barclays Center in July, singing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back.”
The couple, who initially dated from 2015 to 2016, rekindled their romance in July, just months after she split from Wicked co-star Ethan Slater after a three-year relationship.
Grande softly launched the on-again romance on July 27 by sharing a clip of them clinking olives before officially going public with a tagged photo dump on August 12.
Grande’s steamy visual comes a month after she quit her West End role in Sunday in the Park with George, revealing a planned break amid ‘continued public scrutiny’ over her apparent weight loss.
A spokesperson for the star told People at the time: “Ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after completing the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She looks forward to wrapping up the tour and ending it on a positive note, both healthy and happy, and then taking a well-deserved break from public work and performances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny.”
A source later told the outlet that Grande will “continue to support her brand work during the hiatus.”

The star still plans to participate in promotional activities and press for her upcoming film Focker-in-Law, despite her recently announced break from the public eye.
The star is also reportedly “committed” to participating in promotional activities and press for her upcoming film Focker-in-Law starring Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner and Ben Stiller, due out on November 25, despite her recently announced break from the public eye.
Grande released a music video for her song Petal in July, which set off alarm bells when she appeared on screen with her sternum in view.
It even prompted a response from British actress and activist Jameela Jamil, who suggested an eating disorder may be at play.
Shortly after announcing her reputation breakthrough, the pop star privately emphasized that her break from the spotlight was planned “a long time ago,” telling fans at a subsequent show that “boundaries needed to be set.”
She made it clear to fans that the upcoming hiatus in public appearances had been “quietly orchestrated a long time ago” before insisting the decision had not been made because “negativity was ruining things for me.”
