The District of Columbia has no representation in the Senate, but it certainly does well on the Miss USA stage.
In 2016, Deshauna Barber won Miss District of Columbia, and Kára McCullough came first. Barber went on to win Miss USA, while McCullough won Miss District of Columbia in 2017. That year, Barber crowned McCullough the new Miss USA. It was the first time a locality had won back-to-back Miss USA titles since the reign of the Texas Aces.
