Skye Wheatley admitted she had some wine and cocktails over the weekend as she spoke out about her recent drink driving charge.
Last month, the Big Brother Australia star was banned from driving for five months and fined $700 after pleading guilty to driving a motor vehicle while over the alcohol limit.
On Monday, the 32-year-old finally addressed the incident during a social media Q&A, admitting she was “not proud” of her actions and revealing what steps she took to make amends.
‘I wasn’t really driving under the influence. I was charged with being in possession of a motor vehicle while over the limit. I’ll talk about it soon,” Skye started.
‘Definitely not proud of my actions. I have completed a Queensland Traffic Offenders Program course and therapy.”
She added that she had largely cut alcohol out of her diet, only allowing the occasional weekend indulgence.

“Just drinking mocktails (had some wine and a few cocktails this weekend) but definitely learning my limits, which I feel really good about,” Skye wrote.
“It’s a strange situation, but I feel like so much good has come out of it. I really want to sit down and do a story about it, which I will do soon. I’m just really struggling mentally, so take some time to sort through everything.”
It’s been a challenging few weeks for the former reality TV star.
Last month, the Southport Magistrates Court heard police found Skye unconscious in her car at a McDonald’s on the Gold Coast after drinking a bottle of Jim Beam in the car for several hours.
Skye returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.119 after officers tapped on the windows of the vehicle and woke her up, after which she smelled a “strong odor of liquor coming from the vehicle.”
Her lawyer, Belinda Robinson, told the court Skye had flown to Melbourne on August 8 and was sleep-deprived when she returned home late to the Gold Coast.
Robinson said the mother-of-two, who recently highlighted her relationship with her long-time partner Lachlan Waugh, had experienced anxiety and depression upon returning home and had barely eaten for a week before the incident.

Robinson told the court Skye was angry because he “came home to an empty house” before going to McDonald’s for a Frozen Coke drink.
Police prosecutor Darcey Hugonnet questioned Robinson’s claim that Skye was sober when she arrived at the fast food location and had purchased a bottle of Jim Beam at a nearby bottle shop before drinking in her car.
Acting Magistrate Mark Whitbread also shared his doubts with the court.
“It sounds incredible because I’ve heard a lot of these things over the years,” he said.
“I just don’t understand how that can be accepted.”
In mitigation, Robinson said that since the incident, Skye has taken steps to address both her mental health and her relationship with alcohol.
The court heard she has been taking part in a police program since August 20, has consulted a psychologist and has started taking medication for anxiety and depression.
