Sandra Bullock has famously kept her children out of the spotlight, but the actress appears to be changing course with her new film Practical Magic 2.

This is what the 62-year-old actress says Access to Hollywood Monday in Los Angeles that her children, Louis, 16, and Laila, 12, have blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos in the film.

“They’re in the movie, but not in an obvious way to you, not in an obvious way,” said Bullock, who reprises her role of Sally Owens in the sequel to the 1998 film.

The Academy Award-winning star continued: “I can’t wait to show them where it is – they don’t know where it is.”

The Speed ​​actress told the outlet that her children attended the premiere with friends but did not appear on the red carpet.

Bullock said she is “incredibly proud” of her children, citing milestones she has observed as a parent.

“And what’s amazing is something happens when you have kids where you no longer have the influence on them,” the Bird Box actress said, “and they become the influence on you.”

Bullock, who has famously shielded her children from the spotlight, opened up to the outlet about aspects of their personalities.

The Blind Side star called Louis her “steadfast, moral barometer,” adding, “I’m always like, ‘What would Louis do?’

She continued, “And when it comes to discovering things and thinking ahead – it’s Lai.

“It’s like they’re so completely different, yet they just give me two halves of a whole – it’s amazing.”

Bullock adopted Louis from New Orleans in 2010, initially with ex-husband Jesse James, and then raised him as a single parent in the aftermath of their divorce.

She adopted Laila, who had been in foster care, in 2015, and raised them with her late boyfriend Bryan Randall prior to his tragic death three years ago after battling ALS.

Bullock compared her protective abilities to her Practical Magic character Owens last week while attending the film’s premiere in London.

“The fear of what I consider normal is me to the core,” she said People. “And my children will tell you the same thing.”

She told the outlet that as protective as she is, she accepts that she can’t completely shield them from tougher times in life.

“I think any mother will tell you that all you want is for them not to have the same pain as you,” she said. “But guess what? That’s not their journey.

“The pain makes you the full, round person you are meant to be.”

Bullock, appearing op Red Table Talk spoke in late 2021 about the timing of becoming a parent in her 40s.

“I don’t know why that was the only route, but I’m so glad the universe kept me waiting,” Bullock said in the interview. ‘I had to wait, even though I was anxious and eager – and it didn’t work out, you’re not going to do it the way you think you’re going to do it.’
