2DayFM radio star Emma Chow has shared some incredible news after revealing her husband Enzo has chronic kidney disease.

The Breakfast with Nath & Emma host has been approved as a compatible organ donor, with life-saving surgery hopefully planned in the coming months.

‘So, we have news! I just got out of my transplant app appointment! Emma’s went well, and mine too,” Enzo shared on Instagram on Tuesday.

‘We are a match! The doctors said this was the most boring thing ever because my kidneys are functioning really well,” added a delighted Emma.

“Hopefully we’ll have an operation date before the end of the year. Thank you very much for all your well wishes and words of encouragement.’

Emma admitted that going to the doctor with her husband had been a nerve-wracking experience.

‘I had pins and needles everywhere! But we are so happy and on the right track,” she said before kissing her husband.

Emma Last month, she broke down in tears as she told listeners that Enzo had chronic kidney disease and they were struggling to find an organ donor.

She explained that they hoped she was a match so he could undergo the procedure as soon as possible.

‘I am now trying to save my husband’s life. Enzo has chronic kidney disease and he needs a living donor transplant. Hopefully I’m that donor,” Emma said.

“We’ve gone through a lot of tests… we’re currently waiting for that one test to determine if I’m a match. It’s the first time I can finally help him physically, after years of feeling like I could only watch him suffer.’

She added that she was working hard to maintain a sense of normalcy in her household during this difficult time.

‘I also have to prepare for the news that I am not a match, and I have to come to terms with that. I still do important things that make him feel safe and supported,” she explained.

‘Going to every appointment, keeping it as cool as possible with the kids at home, cooking comfort food, curling up on the couch as a family and sometimes just listening.

‘To be honest, I’m very tired and some days I feel a lot harder to get through. But I keep reminding myself why this season is so important.

“It’s so Enzo can live a long and healthy life and watch our boys grow up.”

The radio star shares two children – Valentino, eight, and Raphael, one – with her husband, whom she married in 2015.
