Perrie Edwards shares her son Axel’s reaction to her Madame Tussauds waxwork and reveals the hilariously ‘brutal’ remark he made

Perrie Edwards has revealed how her son Axel reacted to seeing her Madame Tussauds wax museum when they visited the London museum.

The singer, 30, told how her two-year-old son sweetly shouted ‘that’s mum!’ when he saw her waxwork, which sits next to figures of her Little Mix bandmates.

However, when Perrie tried to ask Axel what he thought, he rudely intervened and asked if he could ‘sit on Aunt Leigh-Leigh’s knee’.

During an interview on Heart with presenters Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, she was asked whether the wax figures will stay together after the band’s break-up.

Perrie explained: ‘No, no, they’re still there. I took my son to see them a few weeks ago and he was excited.

‘He was so excited! Honestly, we walked over and he said, “That’s Mom!” I said, “Yeah, what do you think?” and before I get my “What do you think?” could finish, he said, “I want to sit on Aunt Leigh-Leigh’s knee.”

Jamie joked that her son’s comment was ‘cheeky’, to which Perrie replied: ‘‘And I was like, ‘Okay, how dare you!

“Well, you can’t sit on them because they’re made of wax, so you’ll have to stand to the side with me. Honestly, though, he loved it. He loved it.’

Elsewhere during the chat, Perrie spoke about starting her new career path after releasing her first album as a solo artist.

Jamie said: “In the ten years you’ve been working with the other girls, you’ve obviously had countless single release days, and you know, you’re probably so used to it. How different is it to do interviews and be out there without the others around?’

Perrie replied: ‘Very different. For example, I think part of my subconscious is so involved with having girls around me 24/7 for the past twelve years that I get in the car and automatically assume they will be there.

“Or something that we plan into my schedule, I’m like, ‘Yeah, we want that, don’t we?’ and it’s all ‘us’ and I think, ‘No, it’s all me now.’

And it’s really bizarre to me that I’ve put on my big girl pants and said, “No, I can do this on my own now,” which is really scary! But it’s really exciting.’

Her new single Forget About Us was released on Friday and the catchy tune went to number 1 on the UK iTunes within hours of release.

Perrie revealed that her biggest fan is her son Axel, who she said knows “all the words” to all her songs from the age of two.

Presenter Sian Welby asked the star on Capital Breakfast on Friday: “I was wondering if you played the songs for Axel, just for a bit of a reaction?”

Perrie then explained that her son is her biggest fan, and even has his own nickname for her recording studio, ‘the la la room’.

She said: Yes, I play him everything. My studio is in the house, so he calls it the ‘la la room’ and he lets himself in halfway through the shoot, like I’m in my zone, and he just comes in.. ‘la la la la la’ and then he says: ‘not this one’.

‘Every time I put on a ballad he says ‘not this’. And I said, “Oh, don’t you want this ballad?” And he says, “No, I want to dance.”

“And I’m like, OK, so you want a happier one, and he has his favorite, which I can’t name right now. But he’ll be like “play, play” and as soon as it comes up, he’ll go for it. And he knows all the words to all the songs. It is so cute!’

I went, "yeah, what do you think?" and before I could finish my story "what do you think?," he said: 'I want to sit on Aunt Leigh-Leigh's knee'
