It was a bus trip to Margate that more than 20 million Only Fools And Horses fans will remember fondly.
For the 1989 special Christmas episode, Del Boy, Rodney, Uncle Albert and the rest of the Nag’s Head regulars went to the seaside town, but the trip descended into Trotter chaos when their bus exploded.
And now never-before-seen footage of The Jolly Boys’ Outing episode has been released by show bosses to celebrate the much-loved sitcom’s 45th anniversary.
As the clips are released on Tuesday, Sir David Jason, who plays Del Boy, said: “I really enjoyed watching it all.
“Lots of bits of film that have never been seen before by anyone except those who shot the film, so it comes out fresh.”
The four-time BAFTA winning actor added: ‘I think audiences will find this very exciting.’

Never-before-seen footage of The Jolly Boys’ Outing episode has been released by show bosses to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the much-loved sitcom.
Unearthed footage released by TV channel U&Gold shows Del Boy and Micky Pearce, played by Patrick Murray, filming a carnival scene, while another shot shows Buster Merryfield playing beloved Uncle Albert on the annual bus trip.
It follows the release of previously hidden images to announce the documentary Only Fools And Horses: The Lost Archive, a two-part series launching in October.
This is the first time fans will see footage from the vault.
The upcoming documentary will also feature interviews with cast members including Sir David, Tessa Peake Jones, Gwyneth Strong, Sue Holderness, Steven Woodcock and Denis Lill.
The footage contains a mix of old, unseen scenes, studio rushes, newly discovered outtakes and location shots.
The show’s screenwriter, John Sullivan, died in 2011 at the age of 64 after battling viral pneumonia for six weeks.
After his death, Nicholas Lyndhurst, who played Del Boy’s brother Rodney, said there would never be new episodes of Only Fools And Horses because: ‘John was the driving force.
“We’ve also lost quite a few cast members now, [so] I don’t think I could do it… I certainly couldn’t do it without John.”
