Although the honor was welcomed by her husband, sources shared with the Daily Mail that it has sparked anger among her industry peers. You can read the full story here.
The pair attended the Kineo Awards, held this weekend during the Venice Film Festival, where Nicola was honored with her Rising Star award for her work as an actress, producer and aspiring filmmaker.
Her proud father, billionaire business leader Nelson Peltz, mother Claudia and brother Bradley were there to watch her as Nelson cooled himself in the 30-degree Celsius heat, sometimes retreating indoors while waiting.
She said, ‘Hi everyone. Normally I feel more comfortable playing a character as an actor than when I’m in front of an audience, so be patient.
‘Thank you very much for this enormous honor. Receiving an award at the Venice Film Festival is something I will carry with me for the rest of my career.’
She then turned to her co-star in the film Prima, Faye Dunaway, who was awarded a lifetime achievement award at the same ceremony. “Faye, you have always been an inspiration to me and learning with you has been incredible.”
She continued, “My family is my everything. Thank you to my mother, father, (brothers) Diesel and Brad and Brooklyn. You always believe in me. Having your support is the reason I can reach the stars in the first place.”

There was some chaos before she took the stage. Her award was announced five times and a presenter said: ‘Where is our beautiful star?’
Ultimately, they were told that she would not accept the award until Faye was also in her seat.
In accepting her Lifetime Achievement Award, Dunaway said the best advice she had was the Shakespearean phrase, “To thine own self be true,” adding that she loves Venice. “There’s no city like it.”
Nicola started acting in Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito in 2006, at the age of 11, and posted a throwback snap to her Instagram earlier this week.
She also appeared in The Last Airbender and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
More recently, she writes and produces films through her label, Bunny Films, which is named after her late grandmother and funded in part by her billionaire father, Nelson.
Her last film was Lola, which failed to receive wide distribution and grossed less than $1,000 at the box office.
Married to David and Victoria’s son Brooklyn since April 2022, she has found herself at the center of a family feud that has seen her husband cut off his family in search of “peace” after claiming on Instagram in January that they had tried to separate him from his wife.
Nicola has been working on her indie drama Prima since January, but the film does not yet have an official release date.
The film also stars Dunaway, Jack Huston, Mira Sorvino and Betty Gabriel. Luca and Alessandro Morelli, known professionally as the Morelli Brothers, directed the film as their feature film debut.
Nicola stars as Margo, a dedicated prima ballerina who faces life-changing decisions as modern changes disrupt her ballet company.
The actress and her family attended a private screening of the film in Los Angeles in May, hosted by East West Bank CEO Dominic Ng. Afterwards, she thanked supporters and said their support of independent film meant “more than I can express.”
The film was also in the spotlight after Nicola raised concerns over her drastic weight loss as she prepared for her leading role.
Nicola underwent four months of grueling ballerina training for her role, which saw her lose weight to less than 45kg.
Her shock weight loss came in an attempt to be complete embody her ballerina character – for which she has committed to a strict diet and intense training regimen.
Last week, Nicola’s husband Brooklyn jumped on her defense and warned ‘don’t ever talk about my wife’ in an online row about her weight.
The aspiring chef responded in the comments section of his latest cooking tutorial on Instagram after a follower asked, “Are you commenting on everyone worrying about your wife and how sickly she looks?” She puts herself out there and feeds her.”
Brooklyn replied, “Never talk about my wife. She is absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s shameful.’
