Liverpool wunderkind Stefan Bajcetic has confirmed he will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.

The teenager who broke into the first team this season missed their Champions League outing against Real Madrid on Wednesday due to what manager Jurgen Klopp described as an “adductor stress response”.

In a blow to Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League, Bajcetic has confirmed on social media that his injury is serious enough to keep him out for the rest of the campaign.

He said in a post on Instagram: “Unfortunately, I got injured and it will keep me out until the end of the season.”

“It’s very sad to say goodbye to this amazing season for me, but I understand that this is part of football and it will only make me stronger physically and mentally.”
