Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has offered a $15 million bounty to assassinate Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, a newspaper claims.

Italian Il Foglio According to the newspaper, the country’s intelligence service intercepted an order from Medvedev – a former Kremlin president – to the private military company Wagner.

Medvedev – deputy head of Russia’s powerful Security Council – allegedly ordered this assassination before Crosetto issued a statement accusing Wagner of contributing to the EU migration crisis by organizing the flow of migrants from Africa to Europe.

Medvedev in January publicly labeled Crosetto an “eccentric” and one of the “countless fools in the power structures of Europe.”

The newspaper reported that other intelligence services in France and Poland had also expressed concern about Medvedev’s alleged order to Wagner.

It also claimed that Wagner has several cells in Europe, including Serbia and Estonia.

The report stated: ‘There is a real threat that the Kremlin is against the Italian defense minister, with a bounty on his head – $15 million.

“At least this is the reporting that has come to the top of the government from our intelligence services.”

Medvedev was a long-time Russian prime minister and president between 2008 and 2012, a four-year period in which Putin acted as prime minister.

The report said Medvedev could hold the right-of-center Crosetto responsible for an alleged Italian betrayal of Russia that had helped Rome during its hour of need.

The minister from NATO country Italy warned of the need for strong defense of Ukraine to prevent a Third World War.

He has been Minister of Defense since October.

There are suspicions that Medvedev will look again at the top job if Putin retires due to ill health or political turmoil caused by the effects of the war.

Medvedev, normally prolific on social media, has not commented on the Il Foglio report.
