An Iraqi man has been accused of raping a 14-year-old boy in an alley and stalking a woman.

Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, of no fixed address, will appear at Portsmouth Crown Court tomorrow.

The boy was allegedly raped by a man in an alley London Road, in Portsmouth between 7pm and 8pm on August 6 by a man he had spoken to on a bus. The man was not previously known to the teenager.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said it had launched an investigation into the alleged attack after it was reported to police five days later.

During the investigation, a woman in her 20s made a separate allegation on September 1 that a man had been stalking her for a year and had damaged a relative’s car.

Investigation led officers to arrest Azad for both offences. The Iraqi was subsequently charged with rape of a child aged 13 to 15, stalking and criminal damage to property worth less than £5,000.

Azad has been taken into custody ahead of his court appearance.
