Five people have been arrested after a man in his 50s was found dead in a house.
Police were called to a property on High Street in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, on the afternoon of September 2 after someone raised concerns about the man’s welfare.
Officers discovered the body of a man in his 50s, who was believed to have died several days before his discovery.
Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit opened a murder investigation on September 3 following a post-mortem examination at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The team has made five arrests in connection with the investigation.
Three men aged 43, 48 and 54 have been arrested on suspicion of murder, while two people, a woman aged 38 and a man aged 53, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All remain in police custody.

Detective Inspector Cheryl Thompson said: “This is a rapid investigation with three people now in custody on suspicion of murder.
‘Over the past few days we have been speaking to local people and businesses and we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the High Street area of Burton Latimer over the past week or captured anything suspicious on dashcam, CCTV or a doorbell camera.’
