The driver of a £260,000 Ferrari has miraculously walked away unscathed after losing control on a motorway and crashing, leaving the supercar a mangled wreck.
Bigger Manchester Police said the driver of the custom-built Ferrari 296 lost control on the M602 near Eccles, in Salford, after heavy rain on Sunday.
Photos show the sports car’s crumpled hood, complete with the signature Ferrari emblem, next to a mass of tangled wires and cables.
Greater Manchester Police Traffic (GMP Traffic) shared a photo of the wrecked high-performance car, along with a warning to other drivers on X.
It read: ‘Sadly there is one less Ferrari 296 in the world this morning after the driver of this one lost control in the rain on the M602 in Salford.
‘Fortunately no injuries, but please drive according to the circumstances, in the interests of everyone.’
A new Ferrari 296 starts at £259,695, while bespoke models can cost between £320,000 and £330,000.
Salford and surrounding areas received heavy showers on Sunday after light rain the day before, with temperatures dropping to lows of 13ºC.

A separate incident in Salford involved two people arrested on suspicion of murder after man fell to his death from a balcony.
Police were called to an address in Liverpool Street shortly after midnight on Saturday where a man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He died in hospital the same evening.
A man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, arrested on suspicion of murder and a second man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both remain in police custody.
Chief Inspector Lee Gridley said the investigation was “progressing at a rapid pace”.
He said: “Firstly, our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends as they mourn the death of their loved one.
‘We now have two men in custody and they are being questioned by detectives.
“The investigation is progressing rapidly and we have a team of detectives working to establish the full circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
‘We understand that incidents of this nature may cause concern within the community; However, we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the public.”
A Home Office post-mortem was scheduled to take place on Sunday.
