Dolly Parton’s cousin revealed that the legendary country singer asked him to record a video announcing her death, years before her death was confirmed on Tuesday.
“This video announcement is something that Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,” Bryan Seaver said in a video on X.
“I’ve imagined the heaviness of this moment, but haven’t really felt it until now. It is an honor that comes with absolute pride and great sadness,” he said.
Parton had been open about a series of health issues she faced following the death of her husband Carl Thomas Dean in 2025.
She shared her latest health update on Friday, just days after canceling her Dollywood event. Tributes for the iconic country star poured in after her death was announced.
