Comic Relief viewers SLAM BBC over David Walliams’ ‘awkward’ sketch, following his scandal-plagued exit from Britain’s Got Talent

Comic Relief viewers felt “uncomfortable” after a sketch with David Walliams during Friday’s show.

The night saw a host of celebrities help raise a whopping £31 million for charity with comedy specials and musical performances.

However, when David, 51, donned a skintight leather outfit while pretending to audition for Eurovision, viewers were less than impressed.

In the segment, stars from Bucks Fizz to Gordon Ramsay tried their luck in front of judges Graham Norton, Lulu and last year’s winner, Sam Ryder.

And David opted to dance Eye Of The Tiger in his tight clothing before covering himself in confetti.

It comes after David left the ITV show ahead of its 2023 series and was replaced by strict former judge Bruno Tonioli, 67.

It came after he was forced to apologize for describing an elderly contestant as a ‘c***’ and making vile sexual comments about a female contestant.

The comments, made in January 2020 during auditions at the London Palladium, were picked up by the show’s microphones and revealed in December 2022.

During the audition, an older actor joked with the judges in which he made fun of Walliams. After the audition, the retiree left, at which point Walliams is said to have called him a ‘c***’ three times.

In another instance, after a contestant auditioning on the same show walked off stage, Walliams commented: “She’s like the slightly boring girl you meet in the pub who thinks you want to fuck her but you’re not… She’s The last thing on your mind, but she’s like, ‘Yeah, I bet you do!’

At that time, Amanda and Simon weighed in on the scandal surrounding David after offensive comments he made about contestants on Britain’s Got Talent were leaked.

Despite the backlash, Amanda publicly endorsed her co-star during the uproar when she proudly declared herself ‘team David’.

Speaking about the future of Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda told Good Morning Britain: ‘I’d like to see the judging panel as before. I think we are a great team, we are a family.

Simon, 63, was not as forthcoming when asked about his fellow judge in an interview with the daily star.

When asked about David’s behaviour, Simon replied: ‘Can’t we go there? If you do not mind.

He also insisted that the judges were not the key to the show’s success, reflecting, “I think for me, the most important thing, and I had this conversation the other day.” It’s always about talent.

“If you don’t have great talent, you don’t have a show,” he said. That’s all I care about.
