The megastar celebrated her 45th birthday and the 20th anniversary of her iconic album B’Day by selling a ‘limited edition of 500’ wooden ‘Bey keeper collector’s box’ for $948.01 and followers were none too happy.
Her fans – affectionately known as ‘The BeyHive’ – came out in droves to take to Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment company Instagram and drag their icon over the empty box.
One of her loyal followers even labeled it a “disgusting display of greed” from the artist with an estimated net worth of $1 billion.
“$1K and it’s an empty box. Beyoncé, you’ve gone fucking crazy!’ said another, while another commenter wrote: “For that price I want you to jump out of the box and perform.”
One of the most notable elements about the item is that the product description states that it is a collector’s box that is “designed to house and display your Beyonce vinyl collection,” but it does not include vinyl of B’Day or any other album by the artist.

Another thing that Beyhive members were outraged about was the choice of wood for the coffin: pine, which is considered a cheap wood.
The item’s price of $948.01 has some significance since Beyonce was born on September 4, 1981, but some fans argued that the price should have been $94.81 in that case.
Despite not including limited vinyl in the ‘Bey collector’s box’, Beyonce released a 31-song reissue of her iconic album B’Day to mark the 20th anniversary.
It features a number of previously unreleased songs, including Lost Yo Mind, Creole, Back Up, My First Time and Can I Watch You featuring Pharrell Williams.
There are also Spanish versions of songs like Get Me Bodied (Mueve el Cuerpo) featuring Colombian reggaeton superstar Maluma and Irreplaceable with a sample from the late Tejano legend Selena.
B’Day was a huge hit in 2006 as it sold over 8 million copies worldwide and spawned huge singles including Irreplaceable, Ring The Alarm, Deja Vu and Green Light. It even earned her a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary R&B Album.

In the snap, Knowles was flanked by his megastar daughter Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams while aboard a luxury boat.
The post left many Destiny’s Child fans wondering about a possible reunion and now the patriarch has confirmed that new music is on the way.
The girl group has recorded 10 to 15 remixes, including an urban and dance mix, Knowles said TMZ in July.
It remains unclear whether the new songs will form an album, but he told the publication that the three artists are completely into the new era.
He also told the publication that the group has also been on never-before-seen video and never-before-heard audio that is currently being released.
However, fans shouldn’t save up for a possible tour just yet, as Knowles told TMZ there are currently no plans for a series of joint performances.
Knowles was the group’s creator and manager when they formed in Houston, Texas, in the 1990s.
It has been almost 22 years since the group has released new music, as their last album, titled Destiny Fulfilled, was released in November 2004. The trio all went on to pursue solo careers.
