Nicola Peltz makes her Venice Film Festival debut - an hour late - alongside diva Faye Dunaway before receiving her rising star gong

Nicola Peltz Beckham made her film festival debut tonight at an event at the 83rd Venice Film Festival.

Introduced simply as ‘Nicola Beckham’, the actress smiled and giggled with delight as she walked in – an hour late – behind famous diva Faye Dunaway.

Ms. Dunaway stars in Peltz Beckham’s upcoming film Prima, about a ballerina, and both women will receive a Kineo award tomorrow.

Nicola will be named a ‘Rising Star’ and Dunaway will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The actress, dressed in white trousers and a tank top, said: ‘Thank you so much for having me here, it’s such an honour. I’m so happy to be sitting here next to the one and only Faye Dunaway, the icon!’

Mr Dunaway, who walks with the help of a cane, replied: ‘I’m very happy to be here with this lady who I see is going to have a very big career.

“I think she’s so talented and we’re going to see so much of her.”

Moments later the pair left the stage, at the Italian pavilion in the Excelsior hotel, followed by a small barking dog. It was not clear whether the dog belongs to either or neither.

Nicola started acting in Deck the Halls with Danny de Vito in 2006 and posted a throwback snap to her Instagram earlier this week.

She was in The Last Airbender and Transformers, the Age of Extinction.

More recently, she writes and produces films through her label, Bunny Films, which is named after her late grandmother and partially financed by her billionaire father, Nelson.

Her last film was Lola, which failed to receive wide distribution and grossed less than $1,000 at the box office.

Married to David and Victoria’s son Brooklyn Beckham since April 2000, she has found herself at the center of a family feud that has seen her husband cut off his family in search of “peace” after explaining on Instagram in January that they had tried to separate him from his wife.

The Kineo Awards, celebrating its 25th anniversary, notes that “the American actress, screenwriter and producer has attracted growing international attention in recent years through increasingly versatile roles both in front of and behind the camera.”

The ceremony, which was to take place at Casa Cinema Giovani in Venice, was conceived by Rosetta Sannelli, president of the Kinéo Cultural Association, and launched in 2002.

It takes place during the Venice Film Festival, which annually welcomes top stars but has no direct ties to the international gathering.

Nicola has been working on her indie drama Prima since January, but the film does not yet have an official release date.

The film also stars Dunaway, Jack Huston, Mira Sorvino and Betty Gabriel. Luca and Alessandro Morelli, known professionally as the Morelli Brothers, directed the film as their feature film debut.

Nicola stars as Margo, a dedicated prima ballerina who faces life-changing decisions as modern changes disrupt her ballet company.

The actress and her family attended a private screening of the film in Los Angeles in May, hosted by East West Bank CEO Dominic Ng. Afterwards, she thanked supporters and said their support of independent film “meant more than I can express.”

Nicola and Brooklyn were glued to each other on Thursday evening after flying into the Italian city.

The couple sipped on a glass of red wine and enjoyed some PDA as Brooklyn snuggled into Nicola’s neck during a romantic moment on their night out.

The actress wore low-slung clothes jeans and a black tank top and designer sunglasses, while Brooklyn wore a crisp white T-shirt and khaki shorts.
