Ben Affleck’s actor brother Casey confirmed that their father Tim had passed away this year just two months after the death of their mother Christine.

The 51-year-old Oscar-winning actor confirmed he had ‘lost’ both his parents this year.

Speaking at a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, Casey said: “It’s dedicated to my parents, because I lost both my mother and my father this year, and they were very important to me.”

He attended the event in Italy for the film Company, which debuted at the festival, co-writing and directing the highly anticipated film. Page six was the first to break the news.

Casey continued, “I really wanted to show this movie to them, but I couldn’t. I think they would have liked that.”

It has undoubtedly been a difficult year for the Affleck family, as the family’s matriarch, Christine, passed away on June 2 when the family made the sad announcement of her passing on July 24.

Christine was born in New York City in December 1942. She graduated from Harvard University and was a public school teacher for 35 years before retiring in 2008.

Ben, talking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 about his mother: “My mother taught in public school, went to Harvard, got her master’s degree there, and taught fifth and sixth grade in a public school.”

Christine developed a keen sense of social consciousness early in life because “she made the most of an elite education while remaining skeptical of the rigidly segregated world it represented” while attending the Nightingale-Bamford school, according to her obituary.

Christine “taught literacy classes in Mississippi during Freedom Summer, marched against the Vietnam War and enjoyed the counterculture of the 1960s,” according to her obituary.

According to the obituary, she imparted these values ​​in the classroom because “each student, whether fresh from the high society of Haiti or Cambridge, was a valued citizen of her class republic, equal to each other and to herself.”

Christine and ex-husband Timothy Affleck welcomed Ben in 1972 and Casey in 1975. In the mid-1970s, they moved to Massachusetts while Christine taught there. They divorced when Ben was 12 years old, and Timothy would then move to California.
