Angry Anderson has been hospitalized after cardiac arrest.
Anderson’s family shared the news on social media on Monday, revealing the 79-year-old was currently receiving treatment.
“On behalf of Angry and his family, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming messages of support, love and kind words,” they began.
“Your thoughts, prayers and well wishes mean more to Angry and his family than we can express.
“We want everyone to know that Angry suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in the hospital receiving the care he needs,” they continued.
His family then asked for privacy while the sudden hitmaker – born Gary Stephen ‘Angry’ Anderson – focused on his recovery.

“At this time, we kindly ask that you respect the privacy of Angry and his family as they focus on Angry, his treatment and his recovery,” they wrote.
“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and ask that you continue to keep Angry and his family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days.”
Anderson’s family concluded the message by thanking fans for their “kindness, understanding and continued support.”
‘It is reassuring to know how many people are thinking of Angry and wishing him well in his recovery.’
The post was quickly flooded with well wishes from Anderson’s many fans.
‘No, Angry is going to recover. God knows Australia needs him. All thoughts and prayers go together,” one Facebook friend wrote.
‘The sole survivor of the “Rose Tattoo Curse”. You have this Gary. It will take much more to take you from us,” wrote another.
‘What a legend – thoughts of Angry and family. Angry was so caring and supportive to me and my family when my daughter had a terminal illness. He stood up for me on so many difficult issues. I will always be grateful to him,” said another.

The Rose Tattoo frontman is one of Australia’s most celebrated artists.
He is also known for his iconic song Suddenly, which played at Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s wedding in Neighbors in 1985.
In 2018, his youngest son Liam, 26, was murdered in a park on Sydney’s northern beaches.
The following year, Anderson broke down in tears during his first television interview since his son was allegedly beaten to death.
