Amy Childs has revealed that her cousin’s daughter has died at just 11 months old after a battle against an aggressive brain tumor.
Just three weeks after baby Lila was born last September, she was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT).
Atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor is a very rare, fast-growing and very aggressive cancer tumor that develops in the brain and spinal cord of children aged three years and younger.
The TOWIE star, 36, heartbreakingly revealed at the National Television Awards on Tuesday that her cousin Hannah Brincat’s daughter has died.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz on Tuesday night, Amy said: ‘She has passed away, bless her. I only discovered it a few days ago on Instagram. It’s really sad.’
Hannah announced Lila’s death on a JustGiving crowdfunding page set up to help support her daughter.

Explaining Lila’s story, Hannah previously wrote: ‘Our beautiful little Lila is only five months old and has been through more in her little life than any adult we know. Our brave girl, our little lion cub.
‘Lila was diagnosed with ATRT – a rare and aggressive brain tumor – at 3 weeks old.
‘She underwent a nine-hour brain operation when she was just three weeks old, and started chemotherapy when she was just five weeks old. (sic)’
Heartbreakingly, an MRI revealed that the tumor had returned despite ‘six rounds of chemotherapy’, and Lila’s family were told that ‘the treatment would not continue and we were out of options’.
Hannah continues: ‘We lived in hospital for four months, separated from our three other children, and have now been living in a children’s hospice for two weeks. Our lives have been turned upside down and we are devastated.

In March, Amy asked her one million followers to share or donate to her cousin’s fundraising page, which has now raised £27,454.80.
‘We contacted an oncologist in Toronto, who is leading the study in ATRT, for a second opinion on Lila.
‘We have no idea if there are options for us, what they might be and how much it will cost us.
“The target is therefore completely arbitrary, but if by some miracle they come up with something that we can try and it comes to finances, we have to be prepared. Time is not on our side. (sic)’
Of their £30,000 target, £27,454 has been raised, and Hannah stressed that people’s generous donations ‘won’t go to waste’.
She concluded: ‘If our efforts do not pay off, your donations will be generously given to the wonderful charities who have supported us during this time.’
In March, Amy shared a screenshot of her cousin Hannah’s JustGiving page on Instagram, writing: ‘If you can, please help support my cousin’s beautiful daughter, Lila. She fights so hard and every donation makes a difference. Even sharing this means a lot. Thank you very much everyone.’
