A video of 11-year-old Hayden Panettiere singing has gone viral following the star’s shocking death on Sunday.
The clip shows the baby-faced actress performing Britney Spears’ You Drive Me Crazy during an appearance on Rosie O’Donnell’s talk show in 2000.
As the young Panettiere performed, a star-struck O’Donnell looked on before giving her a high five.
At the time, the child star was promoting the hit Disney sports drama Remember the Titans, in which she played Sheryl Yoast, the football-obsessed daughter of coach Bill Yoast (played by Will Patton).
Social media users praised Panettiere’s immense talent while reminiscing about her short-lived pop stardom, which came later in her career.
The clip began making the rounds on social media after Panettiere died at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina. Narcan was found in the apartment where she died after the Heroes actress suffered an apparent overdose.

Kaya, now 11, lives in Europe with her father.

‘My heart is broken. I have been listening to this song every week since its release,” one person wrote.
‘I can’t believe it. When it came out, we used to play that song on our phones on the way home from the club.”
In addition to her acting career, Panettiere built a versatile musical catalog that includes Disney soundtracks, solo pop releases and country hits.
In 1999, she earned a Grammy nomination for her contribution to A Bug’s Life.
She has regularly contributed to the soundtracks of her own films, including Tiger Cruise and The Dust Factory in 2004, followed by Ice Princess in 2005.
Panettiere made her independent pop debut in August 2008 with the reggae-infused single Wake Up Call, her first musical release not related to an acting project.
The track was intended to culminate in a full-length album, but the project was ultimately scrapped.

Her greatest musical impact came with her starring role in Nashville, where she recorded numerous country chart hits, contributed to the show’s soundtrack albums, and made numerous concert appearances in connection with the show’s tour promotion.
The Hollywood star earned multiple award nominations during her career, most notably when she played cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes and Juliette Barnes in Nashville.
On Monday, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said Panettiere’s autopsy was completed and no signs of trauma were found on the star’s body.
Further investigations will now take place to determine her cause of death, with Deputy Chief Coroner Shelton England telling the Daily Mail it was too early to discuss the drug overdose theory.
It is still unclear whether Narcan was used to revive Panettiere, although 911 audio obtained earlier on Monday showed the actress had gone into cardiac arrest after a suspected overdose.
Meanwhile, a neighbor has spoken about the chaos that unfolded at the scene on Sunday after Panettiere became unresponsive and attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Micah Lee, who lives in the Judson Mill Lofts complex where Panettiere died, claimed there was “a lot of commotion in the hallway” after the star reportedly “collapsed” in a unit in the building.
‘The corridors are quite hollow, so the sound reverberates everywhere. And I had just heard that someone collapsed,” Lee told WYFF. ‘And then there was talk of cardiac arrest. I can’t confirm all that. That’s exactly what I heard.’
In audio of a 911 call at 1:51 p.m. Sunday, a female dispatcher described the actress as being in “cardiac arrest.”
Moments later, a male dispatcher was heard saying that Panettiere had suffered a suspected overdose at his home.

The actress — who would have turned 37 on Friday — was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 p.m., just over 40 minutes after the first 911 call was made.
The cause and exact manner of her death are still under investigation.
The actress had a history of drug addiction, starting when she was just 15 years old. At the time, she claimed she started taking “happiness pills” in an attempt to make her appear “peppy” during interviews.
Her addiction worsened when she struggled with postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter Kaya in 2014.
But Panettiere has been sober in recent years, she said in a 2022 interview, noting that “it’s a daily struggle.”
“It’s an everyday choice, and I’m constantly watching myself,” Panettiere told People at the time. “But I’m so grateful to be part of this world again, and I’ll never take it for granted again.”
The tragic news of her death comes just months after her memoir, This is Me: A Reckoning, became a New York Times bestseller. In the book, Panettiere described how she struggled with fame and dealt with the difficulties in her life.
She was predeceased by her brother Jansen, who died in February 2023 at the age of 28 from ‘an enlarged heart’.
