Morning Live star Xand van Tulleken has become a father for the second time after his wife Dolly gave birth on Monday.

The TV doctor, who already has one child, Julian, from a previous relationship, shared the happy news that he and his wife have welcomed a son, Rex Patrick Anthony van Hoogenhouck-Tulleken.

On Instagram, Dr. shared Xand a heartfelt photo kissing his wife after she gave birth while holding the newborn.

He captioned the snap: ‘Our son, born on Earth Day. So proud of my amazing wife @dolitics’.

Meanwhile, the BBC Morning Live team also sent their best wishes as they took to Twitter to share the news.

They wrote: ‘Congratulations to @xandvt and @DollyvanT on the birth of their son, with perhaps the best name ever, Rex Patrick Anthony van Hoogenhouck-Tulleken.

“The Morning Live family just got bigger and we can’t wait to meet him!”

Host Helen Skelton told viewers: ‘We have to intervene because we know we like to start the day with happy, happy news. If you checked yesterday you may have noticed an absence from our breakfast bar.

‘Often on Mondays we are accompanied by Doctor X, and he was not there for a very good reason. He was with his lovely wife Dolly when they welcomed their son Rex Patrick Anthony van Hoogenhouck-Telleken. Baby Rex is here!’

Gethin Jones added: “Named after his grandfathers. It’s all going really well. Xand’s smile beaming there isn’t great.’

“I know you like us all wish you the very best, congratulations Dolly, Xand and baby Rex,” Helen continued.

The twins and television doctor first announced his engagement to Dolly in 2022.

He recalled popping the question, saying, “We had a great time.

‘I proposed to my now fiancée Dolly and we experienced pure magic. We rode around London on a tandem bike and felt like characters from a Richard Curtis film.’

Dr. Xand is already father of his son Julian, who lives with his mother in Canada.

Talking about being a parent in 2021 in a piece for The guardhe said of his son, “He is the best and most important thing that ever happened to me.

‘He was also an unexpected surprise. I had a brief relationship with his mother; we parted on good terms.

“Then one day, out of the blue, I got a call from North Korea, where she worked. She was pregnant. I lived in England and she lived in Canada.’

Dr. Xand lived in North America for the first ten years of his son’s life before returning to London.
