Aston Villa have reportedly extended boss Unai Emery’s contract until 2027 amid interest from elsewhere.
The 52-year-old Spaniard has had a stunning impact at Villa Park since joining from Villarreal in October 2022. After taking over a side that was just one point clear of the relegation zone, Emery led them to a seventh-place finish and qualification for the European Conference League.
From his appointment until the end of last season, Villa even picked up 49 points from 25 games, a record bettered only by Man City, Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool.
This season, Villa is on course to qualify for the Champions League as it sits six points ahead of Tottenham with four games to play – although Spurs still have two games in hand – as they reach the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League have reached.

This is a major blow for Bayern, who have already seen key targets Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann reject offers for the job, with the pair committing their futures to Bayer Leverkusen and Germany respectively.
