William and Mary co-stars Martin Clunes and Julie Graham have reunited for a summer holiday, 20 years after they played lovers in the ITV series.
The British acting icons played widowed mortician William and midwife Mary in the 18-episode comedy-drama, which saw the two embark on an unlikely romance.
The much-loved show ended after three series in 2005, but Julie, 61, and Martin, 64, have remained close friends ever since.
The actress shared a look at the friends’ summer getaway in an Instagram carousel this week, captioning it: ‘Summer shenanigans France/Dorset/New Forest/Kent wine, singing, cycling, swimming, dancing, belly laughs. Fueled by old friends, new friends and time with my husband. Delicious.’
Julie posed for a selfie with a beaming Martin and her husband of seven years Davy Croket and also shared bikini-clad snaps of herself enjoying the heatwave.
Fans raved about the reunion, with one of Julie’s followers saying: ‘William and Mary is one of my favorite shows. Nice to see that you and Martin are still in touch.’

In a 2020 interview on ITV’s Lorraine, Julie opened up about the pair’s enduring friendship and called Martin “one of my best friends”, adding that “he came to my wedding and gave me away”.
Since 2019, Julie has been married to Davy Croket, her Belgian skydiving partner. The couple met when Julie was filming ITV comedy Benidorm. Martin has been married to television producer Philippa Braithwaite since 1997.
In addition to William and Mary, the actors also starred together in the 2000 film Dirty Tricks and Julie made a guest appearance on Martin’s hit show Doc Martin.
She admitted she would jump at the chance to reunite with Martin for a new series of William and Mary, joking in her 2020 interview that ITV should ‘make that happen’,
Recently, Julie has complained about the lack of decent roles for actresses her age.
Last year she starred in BBC crime series This City Is Ours and Channel 5 period drama The Hardacres and will appear in the upcoming next series of Trigger Point.
But she has admitted she has struggled to find projects “I wanted to do.”
In March 2025, she explained in The Telegraph: “Either the script isn’t good enough, or the part isn’t big enough, or I can’t do anything with it.”
‘Writers seem to think that female characters over fifty have to be a certain type: someone without agency, who is never the main character, who is sexless, whiny and confrontational. It’s depressing.’

She admitted that she is “one of the lucky ones” as she has been working consistently “but I hate that word ‘lucky.’ I’ve earned my stripes. I shouldn’t say, “I’m so lucky to be working.” F**k that. They’re lucky to have me.’
Martin, meanwhile, has his sights set on more Hollywood roles following his impressive performance in Wuthering Heights earlier this year.
Martin starred alongside Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in Emerald Fennell’s blockbuster, playing Cathy’s father Mr Earnshaw.
During an appearance on This Morning recently, Martin revealed how he was adjusting to attending glitzy premieres and being surrounded by A-listers, confessing: ‘It’s weird! It’s not the norm at all, it’s exciting and scary.’
