Tom Brady enjoys a chat with friend David Grutman on yacht trip in Italy with Leonardo DiCaprio

Tom Brady enjoys his retirement life as he chats with friend David Grutman on an Italian yacht trip with Leonardo DiCaprio and friends

Tom Brady looked like he was enjoying the sweet life on Tuesday when his friend David Grutman shared a photo of the two deep in conversation together aboard a yacht.

The 45-year-old NFL legend and 48-year-old restaurateur and club owner were among the guests of a star-studded coterie that included Leonardo DiCaprio and other mutual friends.

The group was seen sailing in Sardinia, Italy, with the beautiful coast visible through a window just behind Grutman.

Despite retiring “for good” in February after a few seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady still looked fit and lithe as he enjoyed the late afternoon sun.

His journey comes as a source close to him has revealed exclusively to DailyMail.com that he still yearns to return to football, although it may be functionally impossible for him to retire at this time.

‘Coffee talk’: Tom Brady, 45, and his friend David Grutman, the owner of the club, chatted on a yacht in Sardinia, Italy, in a photo Grutman posted Tuesday

Brady was shirtless and wearing blue and white shorts and black sunglasses as he chatted with Grutman on a towel-covered blue, white and red sofa aboard the luxury yacht.

Grutman was dressed in a white printed T-shirt and white shorts and appeared to be drinking an espresso.

“Coffee talk,” Grutman captioned the photo.

“I’m ready for my hospitality internship 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣,” Brady joked in a comment, referring to his friend’s industry.

But the football icon also received a playful ribbing from his friend David Beckham, who added in the comments: ‘Tom looks a bit bored to be honest’ as he tagged both men pictured.

Brady’s hunting trip had some surprising bedfellows, as his traveling companion DiCaprio – who wasn’t in the picture – is an ex-boyfriend of his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, though these days he almost exclusively dates women significantly younger than himself.

While Tom and Gisele’s split had been rumored for a while, the two only announced their separation in October of last year, with the process revealed to be finalized soon after.

“We have come to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we have spent together,” Brady said in a statement at the time. “We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way.”

“We wish each other only the best as we pursue new chapters in our lives that have yet to be written,” he added.

Brady and Bündchen share two children – Vivian and Benjamin – while he also has an older son, Jack, from his relationship with Bridget Moynahan.

While Tom is clearly enjoying his retirement, a source exclusively told DailyMail.com that he is still itching to get back on the field.

“Tom misses football, loves to play and would love nothing more than to compete on the biggest stage again and win another Super Bowl. But as great as those thoughts sound, he’s made the decision to retire from the NFL once and for all,” they said.

They added that it was “highly unlikely and almost impossible” that he would return to an NFL team at this point.

However, fans will still see him a lot on television as he recently signed a $375 million deal with Fox to work as a sports analyst.
