The Block’s fan favourite Foreman Keith Schleiger reveals the REAL reason he’s stepping away from the hit series

Block fan favorite Foreman Keith Schleiger has opened up about the reasons behind his shocking decision to take a smaller role in the show’s 2024 season.

The reality star, 50, revealed he made the tough decision after deciding the long travel times to Philip Island for filming would keep him away from his two daughters.

β€œI didn’t see a way to see my kids more than once a week or anything like that,” he said 9Entertainment.

β€œI couldn’t commute from Melbourne, I’d have to live down there. I just didn’t think it was the right thing to do at the time, I don’t really want to be without them for three months.’

Keith is married to the love of his life, Rebecca, and the couple share daughters, Ebony, 13, and Jasmine, 11.

Schleiger has revealed that he will appear ‘irregularly’ in the new season due to family reasons Herald Sun reports.

β€œThis year’s filming of The Block on Phillip Island required Keith to step back from his full-time duties due to his commitment to raising his two daughters,” a Nine spokesperson told the publication.

‘He couldn’t come to the island for three months. It was literally a bridge too far,” the spokesperson continued.

“But Block fans will be happy to hear that he has been involved as a special guest in the filming of our twentieth season.”

Nine has confirmed that just five teams will compete to convert five properties at the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island.

Ny Breaking Australia can reveal that a company owned by Channel Nine has bought Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5 million.

The beloved renovation series will make a triumphant return to TV screens later this year, twenty years after it first premiered.
