Tom Cruise has announced that he will star in a sequel to his 1990 film Days of Thunder, which is best known for introducing him to his second wife Nicole Kidman.
He fell in love with the then unknown actress during filming and they married six months after the film’s release. He filed for divorce in 2001, citing irreconcilable differences.
Now Randy Quaid, who appeared with them in Days of Thunder, is slamming the actor’s decision to make a follow-up film with Anne Hathaway as his female lead.
“We need Nicole back,” Quaid, 75, wrote on X.
“The sexy older girl for Tom in this movie has to be Nicole,” he added. “That’s the casting that would sell the idea.”
