Railway Children star Sally Thomsett has claimed a Bargain Hunt auctioneer sold her film memories without asking her first.

The actress, 74, revealed that many of her fond memories of the hit show, such as scripts and letters from fans, had been flogged. according to the Mirror.

She also admitted that her film scripts and tickets to the royal premiere were sold without her knowledge.

The collectibles were reportedly sold by Nesbits Antiques Auctions in Southsea, Portsmouth.

The auction house business is run by John Cameron, who has appeared on BBC Bargain Hunt and Cash In The Attic.

According to the publication, a batch of Sally’s belongings was sold for just £900 on April 17.

Her prized possessions, which were reportedly sold, included publicity photos of Sally, a personal diary and scripts from some of her other films.

Sally, who played Phyllis on the show alongside Jenny Arguter in the 1970s, told the publication: ‘No one has attempted to contact me regarding this sale and I am devastated as it is a huge part of my history is that cannot be replaced.

‘As far as I knew they were in a suitcase with memorabilia and memories of my career. Obviously I don’t check the content regularly.’

Sally allegedly threatened to take the auction bid to the police.

The Mirror reported that Nesbits ‘completely refutes’ the allegations of misconduct in the sale.

Nesbits reportedly said the items came from a home owned by one of Sally’s ex-husbands, which the seller of the goods purchased in 1978.

Cameron said they are “currently reviewing the matter with the assistance of legal advisors” in light of the allegations that have been made.

Sally became famous for playing 11-year-old Phyllis in The Railway Children, despite being 20 years old at the time.

A year later, she appeared alongside Dustin Hoffman in the controversial film Straw Dogs, playing a seductive teenager. In the same year, 1971, she married for the first time.

She later admitted she realized she had made a mistake just six weeks after marrying shipping magnate’s son Nigel Newman. The couple divorced shortly afterwards.

In 1972, Sally appeared in a Bovril advert when she was spotted by directors Brian Cooke and Johnnie Mortimer, who cast her as dizzy blonde Jo ITV sitcom Man About the House.

Throughout the 1970s she cemented her appeal as a comedic sex symbol by spending three years on the hit show alongside Richard O’Sullivan and Paula Wilcox.
