Protesters have thwarted a ‘land grab’ by travelers who saw bulldozers razing a nature reserve. Locals turned out in droves, many camping overnight, to vent their anger after a field was taken over in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.
A temporary municipal stop sign was ignored, and it took dozens of police officers to stop the diggers and force them to leave.
