Paul Gascoigne’s son Mason has appealed for help after his girlfriend Jaimee was diagnosed with an ‘aggressive and incurable’ brain tumor at the age of 28.
Jaimee, the daughter-in-law of former footballer Gascoigne Sharp has an incurable brain tumor and Mason is trying to raise £320,000 for treatment for her in America so she can have more time with their son Teddy, five.
A GoFundMe has been set up and Jaimee wrote: ‘Hello, my name is Jaimee. I am 28 years old and mother of my 5-year-old son, Teddy.
‘In addition to being a mother, I am also a daughter, sister, partner and friend.
‘My whole life changed when I was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable form of brain cancer (IDH1-Mutant, CNS WHO grade 4 Astrocytoma).

‘I have had major brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, and am now undergoing treatment with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
‘Unfortunately, with this form of cancer, the tumor will worsen even after standard treatment and no one can predict how quickly. The median survival rate is about 5 years.”
She continued, “More than anything, I desperately want to spend more time with my son. Being Teddy’s mommy is my whole reason for being. And I’m not ready to say goodbye yet.”
Jaimee has been given a glimmer of hope as she has been offered the rare opportunity to participate in a clinical trial at an Ohio hospital for a new drug for a tumor like hers.
She needs £320,516 to give her ‘a realistic chance of completing this trial’ and must raise the amount in just one month.
Jaimee wrote: ‘I accept that there is no cure for my cancer, but there is a chance for more time – and I need it.
“I need to see my son’s smile and laughter on more Christmas mornings. To be there for more birthdays, and to see him become the young man I always imagined.

Mason is the son of Sheryl Gascoigne and her first husband Colin Kyle. Both he and his sister Bianca were adopted by Paul Gascoigne as children
Mason took to Instagram on Tuesday to thank everyone for their support so far and said he has seen Jaimee’s face light up as he watched people come together to help her.

“I’m not asking one person to make this happen. I ask as many people as possible to help in any way they can.
‘Every donation, no matter how small, matters. And if you can’t donate, share this page.
‘One share could bring my story to the attention of someone who can help. Please help me achieve this goal, and hopefully get more time with my precious boy.”
Jaimee has raised 50% of the amount so far.
Mason, who was adopted by Paul as a child, said: ‘We just need your help to share this as far as possible.
‘We’re trying to achieve this goal so we can have the time we deserve with her and she can have the time she deserves with her five-year-old son, so please like, share and donate as much as you can.
“I know times are tough, but we appreciate it, even if it’s a pound. I just want to thank everyone.”
Later on Tuesday morning he added: “I just want to say thank you, everyone’s support has been amazing. £145,000 since Friday is simply incredible. I can’t thank everyone enough.
‘We are almost halfway there, there is still a long way to go, but we will get there. First of all, thanks for the support and sharing.
“But secondly, it’s what it did for Jaimee. It’s given her this hope and this faith… and this community that she never knew was there for her.
“It was beautiful to see her face light up from seeing it happen and the support from everyone.”
Mason is the son of Sheryl Gascoigne and her first husband Colin Kyle. Both he and his sister Bianca were adopted by Paul.
Paul and Sheryl married in 1996 but divorced two years later after a rocky relationship.
Mason and Jaimee welcomed Teddy into the world in March 2021, making Paul a grandfather for the first time.
Bianca welcomed her first child, a daughter named Blake Sunshine, in February 2023.
