  • Amrish, 18, from India, was badly scarred after a wolf attacked him as a baby
  • He said he was called “ghost boy” by neighbors and children who feared him

A teen who was mauled by a wolf as a baby said he was shunned by neighbors and classmates who called him “ghost boy.”

Amrish, 18, from India, was left with a heavily scarred face and two of his lower teeth protruding from his mouth after being attacked by a wolf as a five-month-old baby.

He said he can’t eat properly now and is often shunned by neighbors and other kids who call him “ghost boy” because they fear him.

He added: “Children and people are afraid of me. Because of this I didn’t even get admission to school earlier.’

Amrish also said his family could not afford plastic surgery to fix the scars because it would cost too much.

But he added, “My friends love me so much and they always take care of me.”

His mother took him where she was working in some fields the day he was attacked by the wolf.

She turned during a break while working and suddenly saw a wolf ‘eating’ Amrish’s face.

He was taken to a nearby government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, India, where doctors were able to save his life.

He later underwent surgery on his face in 2012, but still had visible scars and had to wear a mask.
