Belmore Park Sydney: Celebrities joins thousands to protest violence against women – with 26 woman killed in Australia so far this year
Celebrities including Abbie Chatfield are among thousands protesting against gender-based violence across the country, following an alarming spike in the number of women allegedly murdered this year.
‘No More: National Rally Against Gender Based Violence’ rallies will take place in Sydney, Hobart and Adelaide on Saturday afternoon, with twelve more planned in other capitals and regional cities on Sunday.
Chatfield, an outspoken advocate for women’s rights, attended the meeting with friends Kath Ebbs and half of the Peking Duk duo Adam Hyde.

The meetings, organized by advocacy group What Were You Wearing, also took place in Newcastle and Ballarat on Friday
She shared a series of photos on her Instagram Story of the strongly worded posters carried by the rally participants.
“My dear, not all men… Where the hell are you?” read one poster.
Large crowds of protesters in Sydney arrived at Belmore Park around 1pm on Saturday afternoon and could be seen holding signs reading ‘sick of inaction’, ‘tax the billionaires, fund sexual violence response and prevention’, ‘how many of us need to die’. ?’ ‘They’re not all men, but they’re always men’ and ’32, too many! Enough!.’
The crowd is expected to march towards Hyde Park.
