Sharon Canu, Ashley Cole’s new wife, shares the first photo from an idyllic Italian wedding…as newlyweds scream with delight in front of their two kids and a rainbow sky shortly after saying “I Do”

Ashley Cole and his new wife Sharon Canu screamed with delight as their two children watched the first official photo from their Italian wedding.

The former footballer, 42, and the blonde beauty exchanged vows in Rome over the weekend at Ladispoli’s Hotel La Vecchia Posta and splurged on a lavish ceremony complete with every sensational detail imaginable.

Sharon took to Instagram on Monday and showed off the gorgeous scenes as she posted an image of the couple saying I do.

In the shot, shared with her 8,779 followers, she looked fabulous in her Bardot dress as she held hands with her new husband under a flower arch and before an incredible burst of color powder in rainbow hues.

Standing next to the duo were their children – son Jaxon, six and four-year-old daughter Grace – who wore complementary outfits for their parents for the nuptials, where they were joined by a slew of footballers, WAGs and celebrities.

Sharon simply captured the stunning photo, “Mr&Mrs Cole,” as a host of guests and well-wishers commented under the post.

Guest John Terry, who made a mark at the event by serenading the couple and leading some of the dances, wrote underneath, “Wow what an amazing photo and the most incredible wedding. Congratulations’.

Snippets of guests’ big day have showcased the magnitude of the lavish details, with incredible celebrations including fireworks and a live orchestra as they sipped champagne on the balcony of the clifftop venue.

Photos and videos from the reception showed beautifully decorated long tables where guests enjoyed dinner before watching the fireworks.

The marriage comes 12 years after his four-year marriage to 40-year-old Cheryl ended.

The couple exchanged vows in the romantic setting under a floral archway as the ocean stretched out behind them before walking back down the aisle.

A number of guests shared photos and videos of the wedding on social media where Sharon sparkled in a lace off-the-shoulder gown.

A source told The sun earlier this month on the wedding: “Ashley and Sharon are madly in love and have spent months planning their special day. They met in 2014 when he joined AS Roma and now they return to the city for their wedding.

“A lot of her family lives there and it’s very romantic – it’s going to be a special day. They put a lot of money into it, but they only invited close friends and family.

“As a couple, they’ve been very private, so they don’t need a flashy, public wedding.”

Since meeting Sharon, Ashley has praised the stunner for helping him transform, given his previous failings as a husband to Cheryl.

He claimed she helped him become “a better man.”

Speaking to The Telegraph, Ashley said: ‘These are the things I’m focusing on right now: my kids and my girlfriend. It’s a different me. I’m more of a family man now. You won’t see me in nightclubs anymore, you’ll see me in a park pushing my kids.”

He added: “I was a young, angry boy then, and now I’m an adult and I understand that the things I did are life, it happens…

“Not just me, but with certain situations, a lot of other people have done (the same thing). I learned from it, it made me a better person. It’s made me a great dad.’

Cheryl and Ashley met in 2004 and were married in July 2006 in a lavish ceremony at Wrotham Park.

To mark the celebration, Cheryl got a ‘Mrs Cole’ tattoo on her neck to mark her dedication to Ashley.

However, the relationship sadly ended in tears when a slew of heartbreaking allegations of cheating came to light
