They made their romance public in June and Richard Hammond has broken his silence on finding love with therapist friend Kiki Glen.
The new romance comes eight months after Richard, 56, and his wife of 23 years, Mindy, announced they had split.
And in an interview with The timesthe former Top Gear star has spoken about his new love and newfound happiness after they were spotted together outside Waitrose.
He said, ‘This is the best thing that could happen to me. I played golf three times this week. I’ve started running more seriously and will be doing a small triathlon next year. That means I started wild swimming.
‘My partner took one look at the lake, clapped her hands and said, “Oh honey, doesn’t that just make you want to go in?” No, I’ve avoided it for forty years, he said.

‘But sure enough, the next day we were both swimming in wetsuits. And I absolutely loved it.”
Her full name is Keira Glen, but “everyone calls her Kiki.”
She is a governor of Headington Rye School in Oxford and a therapist. The divorcee has two daughters, ages 26 and 24, who are nearly identical in age to Hammond’s daughters: Izzy, 26, and Willow, 23.
After splitting up with Mindy, Richard moved out of Bollitere Castle, near Ross-on-Wye, and ‘moved to the middle of nowhere’, where he lived in a rental property for a while. He then started a new life in Wales.
It’s been a tough few years for Richard. He was understandably affected by being with his father at St Michael’s Hospice in 2024 in the final weeks of his life.
Despite their separation, Richard and Mindy appeared civil at their daughter Willow’s graduation from Hartpury University in Gloucester after their divorce.
The couple said last year that they had a “wonderful” relationship with “two incredible daughters”, adding that they would “always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we have created”.

Their marital home was this £7 million faux-Gothic Bollitere Castle in the tiny hamlet of Weston below Penyard in Herefordshire, set in 20 acres of land.
In 2025, Richard told the Daily Mail that he had had a ‘whole year’, including the ‘devastating’ collapse of his marriage.
His relationship with Mindy had become increasingly strained in recent years due to injuries sustained in two near-fatal car accidents.
And she previously warned him he was on his ‘last chance’, eight years before the couple announced their marriage was over
In 2006, he was hospitalized after crashing a Vampire Dragster at over 200 miles per hour and fell into a coma while filming a segment for Top equipment.
Eleven years later, in the second season of the Grand Tour, he crashed a Rimac Concept One during a hill climb in Switzerland, rolling the car several times and breaking his knee.
An insider previously said: ‘Richard has been through an awful lot and the knock-on effect of the crashes has affected his relationship.
‘It is understandable, given the enormity of the accidents and the impact caused both physically and mentally, that he has done so well to recover and return to normal life.
“But they changed him, there’s no way around it, and his relationship with Mindy has been damaged in the fallout.”
Announcing the divorce in January 2025, he said: ‘A little update from us; this Christmas we were together as a family and this year we will still be a family, just structured a little differently.
‘Our marriage is coming to an end, but we have had 28 wonderful years together and two wonderful daughters.
“We will always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we have created.
“With love, Richard and Mindy.”
