EXCLUSIVE PHOTO: Radiant Ellie Goulding and Caspar Jopling put on a united performance on a VERY star-studded night out amid marital trouble…as they both throw away their wedding rings

Ellie Goulding and her husband Casper Jopling stepped out in London on Monday evening as they united amid their marital troubles.

The singer, 36, put on a glamorous display as she and the art dealer, 31, left their wedding rings for the event at The Twenty Two hotel in Grosvenor Square.

An insider told The Daily Mail: ‘The pair seemed awkward on arrival and almost seemed to put on a show when they left the venue’. Ellie and Caspar began dating in 2017 and tied the knot two years later in a romantic ceremony at York Minster.

The duo were in good company for the night out as they partied alongside Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry, Nicky Hilton, Cara Delevingne, Idris Elba, Princess Beatrice and former Labor Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Ellie didn’t let her personal woes detract from her sensational style as she emerged in a sassy sheer dress while Caspar was smartly dressed for dinner, which was hosted by hotel owner Jamie Reuben.

Ellie, who sang at Prince William and Kate’s wedding reception, was introduced to the Eton-educated Jopling through mutual friends.

They married Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at York Minster in 2019, with her sister Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi among the guests.

Last month, photos emerged of the pair looking gloomy at the Serpentine Summer Party in London’s Kensington Gardens, which Ellie went to without her wedding ring. Caspar went to another party at the Chiltern Firehouse without his wife.

Ellie was also missing her wedding ring when the couple were spotted in London with their son Arthur earlier this month and now again on Monday night.

A source said: ‘Things have been going badly for at least six months now, both sides have really tried to be happy together for the sake of their son, but these things can only last so long before it’s unsustainable.

Ellie’s team insisted that she and Caspar were happy, that any suggestions that they were breaking up were completely untrue and now this. It has indeed all been very mysterious.’

Jopling, who works for Sotheby’s auction house, seemed to dismiss their alleged marital problems last week by sharing a photo of the Love Me Like You Do singer on his Instagram account.

Ellie posed for a piece of artwork by Tracey Emin for a post celebrating her 60th birthday. The singer has reportedly struck up a friendship with millionaire Tory colleague Zac Goldsmith, with the pair bonding over a passion for saving the environment.

A friend told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Ellie and Zac have a common interest: to save the environment. They clearly know each other and talk away from their environmental work. They have very different backgrounds, but have become friends.’

A spokesperson for Ellie said: “To say that Ellie talks to Zac Goldsmith outside of work is completely untrue.” Mr Goldsmith declined to comment.
